Toss in garlic with a pinch of salt and sautΓ© until fragrant. Add cauliflower rice to the pan along with salt, pepper and chicken broth (or water). Pop on the lid and cook for 3-4 minutes or until the rice is tender. Transfer to a bowl and allow to cool before stirring in scallions, cilantro and lime juice. Set aside. Heat a large non-stick saute pan over a medium heat, add in remaining oil and ground chicken. Season with salt and pepper and break into crumbles with a rubber or wooden spatula until the chicken is in crumbles. Once the chicken has turned from translucent to opaque, add in taco seasoning and stir to coat the chicken with the spices. Cook for a couple more minutes or until chicken is cooked through. Shut off the heat and allow to cool. Once all of your ingredients are prepped and ready to go, you are ready to assemble your bowls. Starting on one side of your meal prep container, layer cauliflower rice, corn, black beans, chicken and tomatoes. Repeat until you make 4 burrito bowls. *OPTIONAL: combine greek yogurt, chipotle sauce and lime juice. Mix well! Store burrito bowls in the fridge for up to 5 days. Top with yogurt sauce before eating. Enjoy! NOTES *You can eat these burrito bowls hot, cold or room temperature. Resistance Band Lower Body Workout - BARLATES BODY BLITZ Target 10 Quads https://youtu.be/iNezycaGUm8 Welcome to the Target 10 series. You will target all your problem areas with 10 rounds of 60 second intervals. You will add extra equipment such as ankle weights, resistance bands and pilates ball to some of the exercises to increase the burn even more. The workouts are easy to follow, but tough to do. They require very little space and guarantee results if you do them on a regular basis. In Target 10 Quads you will work the front of your thighs to perfection using a resistance loop to intensify the exercises. You will start with thigh dancing, then move to leg raises, circles, in and out sweeps and extensions with different rep patterns. You will do the exercises on one side first and then the other in order to fully fatigue each leg. The burn is real with this intense quad focused workout. Use it on it's own or add it to another of the Target 10 workouts for a further challenge. Trim the top and bottom of zucchini off. Lay the zucchini flat and slice in half lengthwise. Repeat with all four zucchini. Using a spoon, scoop the center of the zucchini out leaving 1/4 inch wall around the bottom and sides of the zucchini. Repeat with each zucchini halve. Reserve 1 cup of the zucchini meat from the center of the zucchini and give it a rough chop. We will use this in the filling. Add a thin layer of salsa to the bottom of a baking and lay the zucchini boats on top. You may need two dishes to fit all of the zucchini. Ina large non stick skillet, heat olive oil. Once the oil is hot, add in the onion along with a pinch of salt. Once the onion is translucent, push to the side and add in ground beef. Season with salt and break up into crumbles. Add taco seasoning and stir to coat. Next, add in cauliflower rice, garlic, bell pepper and zucchini 'meat'. Season with a little more salt and pepper and stir. Pour in remaining salsa, stir everything together, and simmer for 5-10 minutes. Turn off the heat and allow to cool until it's easy to handle. Divide the mixture evenly amongst all 8 zucchini boat halves and then sprinkle each half with shredded cheddar cheese. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes or until the cheese has melted and the zucchini is tender. Top with fresh tomatoes and cilantro and enjoy! NOTES *I always buy my cauliflower rice pre-made at the grocer store. You can use fresh or frozen for this recipe, both work. **If you want to keep this recipe Whole 30 compliant, be sure to leave off the cheese. Because, when we value ourselves, we give value to everything and everyone around us- it is a truly beautiful thing. This sense of self-worth, this feeling that we are all valuable and unique, has a domino effect. Simply put, when we value ourselves, we value others. When we value others, we value humanity. When we value humanity, we value our home- this third rock from the sun, this Earth. Now, don’t worry, I’m not going to get all preachy on you. But, I will tell you, when I started to really value myself, I started paying more attention to my own lifestyle choices. And, after a while, I realized that I feel good about myself when I choose cruelty-free options for me and my home. Not too surprising, I know. So, embrace your inner granola loving, tree-hugging, hippy-dippy self! There’s nothing weird about caring about each other the environment! And, even the smallest lifestyle choices can have an impact. From what kind of toilet paper we use, to what kind of jewelry we wear- simple lifestyle choices like this have a lasting impact. But, just because I am mindful of how and what I purchase, it doesn’t mean I can’t treat myself to life’s little indulgences. We all deserve to feel beautiful, and there’s nothing wrong with spoiling yourself sometimes. Especially when you’ve worked hard for it! I’ve worked hard to bring the joy of ballet to everyone- not only the elite. And, I am proud of that! So, remember, it’s OK to admit when you are proud of something you’ve accomplished, or something you are good at. You should celebrate it! And, surprisingly, finding ways to spoil myself in a way that is still in-line with my own lifestyle choices was easier than I thought. I am not a unique snowflake, I like to dress up and feel pretty too! You will use a double set principle where you perform 2 different intensity levels of one exercises to fully fatigue the muscle. You will work from the hardest to the easiest level with lots of variations to keep thing interesting. Each workout is a total body workout with warm up and stretch at the end. In Double Burn Functional you will starts with some squats and lunges, bent over glute raises and a kneeling back extension exercise to warm up. Then move to 2 lower body sets - elevated curtsy kicks to squats then down dog glute raises to handstand variations. Then 2 upper body sets - side to side push ups and diamond push ups on the step, then a side plank triceps and shoulder exercise. Finally 2 core sets - a spider crawl to break dance move and a lower body raise and keeling back extension combo and a Finish with a lengthening stretch.
